Where are you located?
As of January 2012 we are located in Augusta, Georgia, after having been located North of New Orleans, La. for 12 years. We are an internet only enterprise, and do NOT have a storefront.
How do you price your clothing?
Our prices are determined by current prices for comparable modern clothing, as well as by condition, style and rarity.
Where do you find your clothing?
We select our clothing ourselves on buying trips across the South Eastern United States with an emphasis on Florida, Georgia and South Carolina.
Will you hold it for me?
Gladly. Provide us the number of the item you are interested in and we will hold it for you for two weeks with no questions asked. If you need more than two weeks, please contact us and we will work with you.
What is your postage?
Black Light has free Priority Postage for USA customers. In the Grotto, most postage is extra, and is mentioned on the item page. For both stores, Non-USA customers need to write for a shipping quote.
Will you buy my clothes?
Nope .... sorry.
Why do you select what you feature on Black Light Vintage?
First, it has to be vintage, or a very very appropriate modern item. Second, the garment needs to be in absolutely top notch condition. Third, it has to have style, allure and pizzaz ... sex appeal!
How fast is your shipping? Can I receive it overnight?
We ship immediately upon receipt of PAYPAL credit card payments. We ship with the next mail 99% of the time on the receipt of cleared personal check or money order funds. Since we ship priority mail on almost all items, delivery time is normally 1 to 3 days. We do ship overnight, but because of our location the post office often does NOT GUARANTEE overnight delivery. However, we have never had a domestic overnight shipment not arrive on time. WE MUST HAVE THE PACKAGE TO THE POST OFFICE BEFORE 2:30 pm CENTRAL TIME in order to get it into the overnight pouch. International Customers, please refer to our International section for shipping information.
How do you know the item is vintage?
Aside from personal experience :>) labels, vintage size tags, a general heft and quality to garments that are not found in today's off the rack clothing and more than 22 years experience of shopping, collecting and selling fabulous vintage garments guide us to our selections.
Do you ship internationally?
We ship to all countries allowed by the US Government. Please write to us with the item number that you wish to purchase and the country where you wish the item to be shipped for a postage quote.
Why don't I get an acknowledgement of my order immediately like on most web sites?
Other websites have automated email responses to your order. We pull your item, check it to make sure it is still in the same condition as when it was listed, and then a REAL LIVE PERSON answers you.
How do I know it will fit?
First, please email us if you have any questions about sizing or fit. We are here to answer your questions IN PERSON. We have a sizing chart located HERE. But the best way is to take a similar garment that fits you well, and measure it ... then compare those measurements to the garment on the website.
Why are you only able to estimate the size?
To determine a modern size is difficult ... sizing charts differ from maker to maker and international conversion charts are also not consistent with each other. Because our customers desire it, we are estimating modern sizes but we prefer to personally answer questions.
How do you ship?
For USA customers, all Black Light Vintage clothing is shipped priority mail at our expense. Jewelry items are shipped first class.
What about non-USA shipments?
Non- USA shipping are normally shipped by United States Postage Priority Mail. Delivery time varies by country, but shipments should be received at least 11 day from our mailing date.
What about insurance?
Insurance is always extra, but unless we require it in the item description, we don't recommend it (though the package will be sent at your risk). We pack very well and have NEVER lost a domestic or international package. For non-USA buyers, insurance availability varies by country, so you will have to write to us if you desire insurance.
My Package didn't get here!!!!
Chill!!! We have never had a package lost by any of the delivery services that we use. A delivery can take longer than you desire, however. For USA customers .... the post office will not even start to look for a package until at least two weeks after shipment ... and since we have never had one that late, we really aren't sure what will happen when we inquire!!!!! International shipments are another issue. We have one or two instances of a delay due to international customs. PLEASE NOTE - WE HAVE NEVER HAD A PACKAGE RETURNED BY CUSTOMS. It can take up to 8 weeks for delivery if foreign customs decides to delay a package for delivery. We have found international delivery delays to be exceedingly RARE. But they do happen, and if so, please be patient. Also, we receive a customs receipt from our post office when we mail the package. OUR RESPONSIBILITY ENDS WITH THE SHIPMENT OF THE PACKAGE. We will be glad to assist you in determining what happened to the package but we will not refund non-USA purchases due to non-receipt. If you are really concerned, please purchase registered mail, which is usually 8 to 12 dollars extra per package.
I am outside the USA and need Next-Day Delivery?
We don't recommend it, however, we will provide it ... the postage is normally between $60.00 USD and $120.00 USD, depending upon where you live. We charge a NON REFUNDABLE $80.00 USD handling fee to mail your package due to expenses that we incur providing this service). Air Letter post is fast, more reliable, far less expensive and recommended.
Returns and Contact Information
I need to return an item.
Please inform us by email that you are returning the item. Use priority postage with delivery confirmation to return the package within three days of the delivery by the post office as determined by the delivery confirmation receipt. If the garment is in the same condition as it was when sent to you, we will refund your full purchase price minus our cost of shipping. The 3 day requirement is FIRM.
I need to contact you. How do I do that?
Start with EMAIL. In addition, our buyers are always available to discuss any concerns that you might have regarding a purchase. If you are able to provide a phone number by email, we will call you back. Time is often of the essence for our customers and we are SWIFT in all of our customer service responsibilities.
Who is dangeroustania anyway, and is she really dangerous?
Tania originally developed and was the webmaster of this website. We think she is very dangerous indeed!!! :-).

All content on the site is copyright S. Harper. However, if you are going to use the item on a PERSONAL website, or for EDUCATIONAL purposes, feel free to download and use any pictures you wish, as long as you email us requesting permission.
